Preservation Austin Invests $30,000 in Local Preservation Projects and Opens Summer 2026 Grant Cycle

Preservation Austin is thrilled to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its signature Grants Program, which supports the preservation and interpretation of the historic places that mean the most to our community. By providing funding for important projects citywide, the non-profit aims to financially support Austinites as they preserve our shared past. For its Winter 2026 Grants Cycle, Preservation Austin awarded more than $30,000 to 12 heritage-based projects.

The Grants Program awards funding in three categories: Education, Bricks and Mortar, and Planning/Historic Resource Survey/Local Historic Designation. Two grant opportunities are offered: biannually reviewed Matched Grants for up to $10,000, and year-round Rolling Grants for up to $1,500, which do not require matched funding. The Matched Grant application deadlines are January 15 and June 15. Nonprofits, neighborhood groups, and owners of individual or proposed landmarks may apply.

Applications for the Summer 2026 Grants Cycle are now open and due by June 15.
