Support Our 2024 Membership Drive | August 19 - 31
Preservation Austin’s mission to empower Austinites to shape a more inclusive, resilient, and meaningful community culture through preservation is only possible with the support of our valued members. We are the ONLY citywide nonprofit advocating for our historic spaces, and your support is needed now more than ever.
In the face of unprecedented change, Preservation Austin has grown this year to better meet the needs of our city. Launching new experiential programming, successfully advocating for meaningful preservation policies, and making a tangible impact in our community is just the beginning.
Our 2023-2024 Impact Report highlights the many accomplishments this past year thanks to our dedicated staff, board, and volunteer community. We are grateful to you, our members and supporters, for believing in our mission and making this work possible.
By joining our preservation community as a member today, you can get us one step closer to reaching our $50,000 and help us expand our mission-centric work even further.
Members receive special benefits such as members-only events and discounts but, more importantly, they support our vision to create a future where historic places play a meaningful role in everyone’s life, inspiring all Austinites to become advocates for preservation. Will you join us?

ADVOCACY SOLUTIONS
From Underrepresented Heritage to Legacy Businesses, we’re driving policy solutions to save historic buildings. Advocacy wins include Green & White Grocery’s designation as Austin’s newest city landmark to honor Mexican American heritage and the creation of a new Preservation Bonus within Austin’s Land Development Code to encourage the preservation of vulnerable homes in our city’s older neighborhoods. In July, our advocacy helped secure State Antiquities Landmark designation for the former University Junior High on UT Austin’s campus - a huge step forward in the fight to save this important building!
TANGIBLE IMPACT
This year we supported twelve amazing preservation projects through more than $60,000 in Preservation Austin matching grants. Construction on the beloved 1947 McFarland House, which we saved from demolition ten years ago, is nearly complete. This special building will be our staff headquarters and a hub for preservation advocacy and learning for decades to come.
