Ask A Preservationist

TUESDAY, JUNE 23 | 6-7 PM | FREE
MCFARLAND-MCBEE HOUSE | 3805 RED RIVER

Pre-registration required. Space is limited for this FREE event. Secure your spot by June 22 at noon. To make the most of our time together, we encourage you to share your questions when you register.

Have questions about protecting the places that matter most? This is your chance to get answers straight from the people who do this work every day. Join Preservation Austin and Austin Planning for a Q&A panel featuring three preservation professionals with expertise in advocacy, policy, and regulation. Whether you're a homeowner navigating a historic district, a developer working with a landmark property, a neighbor fighting to save a beloved building, or simply someone curious about how preservation actually works, this event is for you.

What you might ask:

  • How to secure historic designation for a building or neighborhood

  • Limits and possibilities of preservation regulations in Austin

  • The difference between local, state, and federal historic designations

  • What to do when a building in your neighborhood is proposed for demolition

To make the most of our time together, we encourage you to share your questions when you register.
