2025 Homes Tour: Legacy of John S. Chase Walking Tour

Explore the legacy of pioneering Black architect John S. Chase, FAIA, NOMAC, as Austin celebrates the 100th anniversary of his birth. Learn about East Austin’s Keystone Addition, developed in the early 1950s, featuring homes built by Lott Construction Company where Chase was a draftsman before and during his studies at The University of Texas.
This free walking tour is led by University of Texas at Austin professor Dr. Tara A. Dudley, and presented as part of Preservation Austin's 2025 Homes Tour. Three timeslots are available, with each lasting approximately 45 minutes and limited to 30 attendees with advance registration. Registrants will receive parking and check-in instructions by email.
SOLD OUT; WAITLIST CLOSED. Any openings will be communicated by email to individuals on the waitlist by Friday, April 25, at noon. The tour pamphlet will be available on our website as a self-guided tour resource following the event.
