Each spring PA depends on the support of up to 200 volunteers to serve as house captains, docents, and ticket-takers for our Historic Homes Tour. One of our most beloved annual events, the tour helps to educate our community on the importance of Austin's historic homes and neighborhoods.
Comprised of members and board members, our dedicated committees provide the necessary support which enables PA to fulfill our mission.
Education Committee: Plans and presents educational classes, tours, and lectures on a wide range of preservation issues and topics.
Preservation Committee: Develops positions and policies on local preservation issues.
Homes Tour Committee: Helps to plan and implement our Historic Homes Tour through fundraising, volunteer coordination, and logistics.
Development Committee: Solicits donors, sponsors, and members, and helps with grantwriting and devising fundraising initatives.
Event Support: PA has a busy schedule of events throughout the year and is always in need of help with set-up, ticket-taking, and break-down. Volunteers receive free admission in appreciation for their support!
Office Aides: PA's small staff welcomes any help with filing, archiving, data entry, preservation research, and mailings in our office.
